    The Position

    The Internal Auditor of Topicus.com is part of the Topicus.com’ Corporate Control team as well as the CSI Internal Audit team. You will be based at Nieuwegein and will report to the Corporate Controller  (Topicus.com) and (a dotted line to) the Vice President of Internal Audit (CSI). You will be responsible for the timely planning and execution of internal audits. There are two types of regular audits: opening balance sheet audits focusing on substantive testing of specific accounts and key control audits focusing on the testing of processes and internal controls. Next to the regular internal audits, you will also assist in themed audits, other audit matters and projects.

    You will not only focus on financial reviews, but you also should be able to evaluate and recommend operational best practices, make recommendations on internal controls and assist management with plans for achieving compliance to standards.

    After fulfillment of this vacancy Topicus.com Corporate Control team consists of 10 FTE of which 3 are Internal Audit. CSI Internal Audit consists of 9 FTE.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the development, implementation, and maintaining/continuously improving the audit methodology and supporting templates for all aspects of the audit process ensuring consistency with group practices and compliance with professional standards in collaboration with the other Internal Auditors, Corporate Control and CSI;

    • Independently plan and execute risk-based audit assignments;

    • Testing the appropriateness of the design, implementation, and effectiveness of key controls related to the (financial) risks at the BUs;

    • Review (validity and completeness) of balance sheets of acquired entities within 180 days post-acquisition as well as themed based substantive audits (e.g. WIP, Deferred Revenue);

    • Validate compliance with Financial, IT, and Legal policies and procedures;

    • Reporting of internal audit findings through audit reports and presentations;

    • Liaise with management on financial, reporting, and other issues;

    • Follow up on and manage remediation of open audit findings;

    • Assess business processes, procedures, and methodologies to improve operational efficiencies and mitigate risk;

    • Other ad-hoc operational analysis, special projects as they arise.


    Job Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Control or Finance

    • > 4 years relevant working experience including time at a Big Four Audit Firm

    • Strong analytical, written/verbal communication, interpersonal, relationship building, and conflict resolution skills

    • Self-starter with an ability to learn on the fly

    • Willingness to travel 25% to 50% of the time including international travel

    • You show initiative and perseverance

    • Ability to adapt to change quickly, multi-task, sets priorities and plans appropriately

    • Possesses managerial courage and the ability to stand alone while maintaining strong ethics and values

    Als Financial Controller Holding Administratie van Total Specific Solutions (TSS) je onderdeel uit van het Corporate Control team van TSS.     In order to accommodate growth in Poland, we’re establishing a local M&A and governance infrastructure, for which we’re looking to hire an analyst that is able to grow together with our presence there.

    DESCRIPTION AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    The M&A Analyst will be based in Warsaw and focused predominately on Poland, other CEE countries and occasionally support projects in other European countries. The Analyst will report to the Portfolio Manager based in Warsaw.

    We have an extensive team of dedicated investment professionals with a background in private equity, corporate development, corporate finance advisory, M&A legal and financial transaction support. Although our team is spread across Europe, we closely collaborate on projects and opportunities, providing a truly international setting. Our team is responsible for the origination and execution of buy-side M&A opportunities, which includes: prospecting, business case drafting, valuation, (contract) negotiation, and due diligence (coordination). Our Polish organization will also be more deeply involved in integrations.

    • Full-time position based in Warsaw, Poland

    • Supportive for lead sourcing, proactively finding new ways of sourcing new targets, and qualitative and quantitative review of Polish targets

    • Valuation of targets (IRR calculation, LBO modeling, DCF calculation) and business case outline drafting

    • Actively support transaction processes by information gathering, due diligence, project management, and other relevant aspects of the transaction process once a project has been initiated

    • Internal team reporting and data processing in CRM systems

    • Thorough understanding of finance (e.g. valuation principles, financial statements, KPI’s, etc.) obtained through relevant studies and/or previous internships/work experience in for example an investment bank, PE/VC firm, corporate development department, or transaction services

    Functie

    Als Financial Controller van TSS maak je onderdeel uit van het Finance team van TSS. Je zult rapporteren aan de Manager Finance & Control. Je bent werkzaam als Financial Controller voor verschillende Business Units.

    Je bent verantwoordelijk voor de financiële administratie en de daaruit voortkomende financiële maand-, kwartaal- en jaarrapportages. Je stelt jezelf onafhankelijk op en leert verantwoordelijkheid te dragen binnen het accounting team. Als sparring partner van de directie, management en de Business Controller, ben je een spin-in-het-web met betrekking tot de planning-en-controlcyclus, de periodieke financiële rapportages, interne kostenverrekeningen, balansen en winst- en verliesrekeningen.

    Kernverantwoordelijkheden

    • Verantwoordelijk voor de complete financiële administratie (e.g.: crediteuren-, debiteuren- en salarisadministratie, grootboek);

    • Verantwoordelijk voor periodieke financiële rapportages en de jaarrekening en het opstellen en ontwikkelen van periodieke managementrapportages inclusief analyses zodat het management/directie adequaat inzicht verkrijgt;

    • Creëert proactief een optimale inrichting van de administratie en de administratieve en bedrijfsprocessen en doet voorstellen ter verbetering;

    • Fungeert vanuit financial control als sparringpartner voor management en directie, presenteert de managementinformatie en analyseert trends uit de omgeving waar de organisatie mogelijk op in kan spelen;

    • Biedt ondersteuning bij de inrichting van administratieve organisaties voor nieuwe acquisities;

    • Acteert als een kennisexpert op zijn vakgebied en staat open om nieuwe dingen bij te leren.


    Functie-eisen

    • WO werk- en denkniveau (e.g.: Accountancy/Bedrijfseconomie/Finance)

    Hoe doen we dit?

    Als Business Controller ben je verantwoordelijk voor de ondersteuning van het management en lever je een wezenlijke bijdrage aan het realiseren van de doelstellingen van de business unit(s). Je bewaakt de business performance en beïnvloedt tijdig corrigerende acties. Maandelijks vertaal je de verwachtingen in de Rolling Forecast en stel je kritische vragen. Je ondersteunt de Managing Director en het MT bij het opstellen van de omzet en pricing strategie, kostenbeheersing en efficiency en je houdt attritie scherp in de gaten. Je maakt gevraagd/ongevraagd, zowel gepland als adhoc, financial insights, die de mogelijkheden laten zien om de performance van de business te verbeteren. Nieuw idee voor een product binnen 1 van jouw business units? Jij zet de business case op, die de financiële impact van het nieuwe initiatief in kaart brengt om te bepalen of het een slimme investering is.

    Je krijgt de mogelijkheid om business control binnen TSS te leren kennen binnen business units die al wat langer onderdeel zijn van TSS en het vervolgens ook toe te passen om nieuwe acquisities. Een echte uitdaging!

    Cijfers en data anno 2020? Dat is meer dan genoeg aanwezig. Maar hoe maak jij management informatie inzichtelijk? Hoe goed ben jij in het communiceren van het verhaal achter de cijfers? Krijg jij management in beweging? Je kan Power BI tooling gebruiken om je hierbij te helpen. Wij kijken nu al uit naar jouw eerste Smart Dashboard!
